Yes I know this does not resemble the value study done
for this subject. Let's put it this way, it took me about 3 hours
to take back control. (not sure who was in charge)
By the time that happened the only thing that might save it
would be to hose it off.
So I was sitting there pondering the rest of the day ... I looked
down and saw I was holding my 1" flat wash brush. Hmmm.
Well that's when things went crazy again. I sat quietly and watched
as my hand holding the brush went chunking and stroking away.
I thought, well if you think you can do better than me then go for it.
It was fun to watch (I never gave it much hope with the brush in charge).
After trashing my palette and mudding up the water containers, it jumped
out of my hand and landed back in the brush jar.
Mary walked in about then and said, hey this one is coming together!
I looked at her with a puzzled look on my face and said, "really?"
Well if like it ... Let the record show I went ahead a signed it.
Still puzzled ... whatcha all think ... show no mercy!
signed: the guy with a brush that runs his life.

I actually like it very much!!! Kudos to your brush with shades of Fantasia antics!!!
This is very awesome! Your best work - any of our best work - comes through us, not from us.
Thanks Kathryn,
I think the brush will have to get his
own dam blog. I hate sharing.
Suzanne,
Wow, thanks. It was definitely an
interesting afternoon following the
direction which wasn't evident at first.
I appreciate your praise, Hope I can
live up to it.
Yahoo! This is nothing short of spectacular, DD! Back in the day, this would be, like, far-out, man!
Earlier today, the cast began to really bum me out, so I made a lackluster turkey sammich and took it out to the studio. Before I knew it, my left hand was pasteling. I figure you were performing this legerdemain at about the same time.
Hmmm... I suspect Loriann is afoot, sprinkling bright colors all around.
Spectacular, well lets just say it's a spectacle. It is growing on me but that could be moss.
How long do you have the cast on? Let us see the left handed pastel. You may be on to something. I think I'll try a watercolor left handed.
Really glad you made it to the studio, just being there has got to promote positive dreaming.
Anyway, thanks for the far-out, dude!
P.S. when I paint now I always feel like Loriann is peering over my shoulder and going, "I wouldn't have done that ... to bad. She is an inspiration and all around good folks.
I love it - the colours, the energy, the movement! I enjoy your inner dialogue too, I often wonder how we have these conversations in our heads and who is talking to whom (is that the correct grammar?)! Good to know, if we're going do-lally, that we're not alone! ;)
I like it too. Great energy and the combination of reality and abstraction.
cast on for 5 more weeks. i can do that. not posting art is driving me nuts tho. can't bend the arm, so can't get the dang camera up to my eye. having eyes checked 2 days ago meant drops, so i only see sparkles. wait; i do have some glitter. stay tuned... i will find a way. being in the studio feels like anything's possible.
just heard about what's good 4 your memory (besides x-words): sleep, communicating w/ friends, dancing, and--get this--using your non-dominant hand. whoa, i feel a mensa membership coming on.
you and loriann say the same stuff about each other. you're both right.
here's to the beauty of both moss and glitter.
happy new year to you and those you love!
I have so much to say, but for some reason I haven't been able to get into your comment section! drat!!!! Finally I am here!
I have been looking at this painting for two days now. Just looking, taking it all it. First.. you took me by total surprise, the energy and dynamic movement in this one is truly impressive. It's great. I think your inner intuition took over. It's what you have been waiting for awhile now. CONGRATULATIONS! You are amazing yourself... everything is possible now!
Only two critique pieces for you... (ignore them if you wish..what do I know? You're the man on a roll) 1.vary the width of the stroke more 2. make the blue in the back (thick clump of trees on right) have just a touch of of magenta. your triad of secondaries is there.
I can't WAIT to see the next one, now that you have opened the door. Do remember it will be up and down. that's why they call it a learning curve. Maybe they should call it learning roller coaster... ENJOY!
I want to give you another thank you for your nomination for the stickability shield. It's like a dream come true to get that award. THANK YOU. you are a wonderful friend. I am so delighted that we met!
Happiest of New Years!

Hey again PB, I just read all the comments and see that you and Sam (of Sam and the dogs) are up to tricks. Glad you are my friends:-)
Ack!!! I am not so self-involved that I didn't know about your smashed toe. I'm just so self-involved that I missed your post about smashing your toe. Sorry.
I feel your pain.
Felicity, Love you comments and thanks for the
cudos. Do-lally, now there is a word I've never used.
Please send a proper meaning along in your next comments. I think I get the picture though.
That's a good question. Who are we talking to during these inner dialogs? I hope it's someone I know. Hee!
Always nice to meet a new friend. Thanks so much and a Very Happy New Year to you and yours.
Thanks David, there didn't seem to be much reality during the process of slogging paint on paper.
If I block out the light house, it's major abstract!
Happy New year David.
S-dog,
Did you say something about memory ... did you say something about memory ... not sure where I was going with this.
5 more weeks? It can't be done, no way, impossible, you'll never survive ... unless you've got moss and glitter and turkey sammiches.
Love your comments from you and the dogs. So glad that Loriann brought us together. Nice!
Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Evening B,
Good to have you back on the east coast. As Dorothy said as she clicked her heels, "there's no place like home".
You keep bringing up on your blog about the use of color, primaries and secondaries and so on. My eye's always seem to glass over when color is mentioned.
It's certainly not you causing me to glaze over! I think it goes way back to 1963, Color Theory, a class I once took. I have not a lick of memory about what was taught or what I learned. I always tell Mary, that color is not my friend. I used to tail the press (check color on large print jobs) and for the fun of it I took a color recognition test. Turns out I have problems with reds and greens. Everything looks normal to me ... but what's really normal to the rest of the world?
Thanks for the praise, check out the one I just posted and see if there is any improvement. If time tomorrow I will try another subject.
Like I told Dog, spectacular maybe, more like a spectacle in process.
I find it so comfortable and special during our converstions. Your a wonderful friend and I'm thankful for that.
Happy New Year B. to Paul as well! I know he's a hip sort of cat. Ha!
Hey it was my pleasure nominating you and I'm thrilled for you and your win. Twin wins with you and Marc. I think that's awesome Buddette!
Thanks Doug! I looked it up and it's actually 'doolally' and I was surprised on one site it's said to be offensive but I've only ever heard it being used affectionately. My son Alex is often referred to as Doolally Ali! Yes, a little bit mad, as you probably guessed!
I love it Doug. Its wild. i love it.
