Next time Listen

This haunted me for 5 days. Laughing at me from the flat
file. It didn't deserve the amount of time I gave it. While I
was working on it, even today. I could here someone hollering
STOP, STOP, STOP! Then I realized it was me. Instincts didn't
pay off this time.

don't you hate it when your art mocks you?
This is nice Doug. What are you talking about? There's really a nice harmony in the colors and I love the reflections!

Doug, my PB friend,
I have looked at this over and over again before posting a comment. I feel like I owe you a critique after you so kindly obliged me. Thank you ..let's keep that up...not that I don't enjoy the praise. but I learn from the critiques.
First your new version of this landscape/refections today is much stronger. Why you ask? I think it is the blue land in the foreground that seems to fight the warm receding land in the near distance. Not that you can't get away with that sometimes...in fact I love it when someone does. This time you didn't. There's also something about the regularity of the tree lines.

I do love the warm land in the distance and I feel that if you played a little closer to that beauty you would integrate the whole piece.

Now this is up to you... we can add real stuff on each others blogs or email personally. I feel you can go and put it on my blog so others learn too. Sam loved your comment today and said so.
What do you think? You can also delete this if you want. k?

Hey B, my wonderful friend.

This is great, I will not delete it. Thank you for being honest. I posted it hoping that someone would see it for what it is. I do think it's far more beneficial to each other and to those new to this sport of painting.
Like you, I will always except praise because the ego must be fed. This will be our contribution to each other and to all those out there in blog vill.

I'm excited. I started a new painting this afternoon and so far it's going well. Hopefully I'll finish it tomorrow. Something different, we'll see how it finishes. Per your comment about showing studios, mine will be going up sometime tonight for all to see. Hee hee, ha ha.

Paint on Buddette,
Your painting buddy.

Hi Deb,
I went ahead and cropped out the top portion leaving only the reflections. I feel much better about it now.
The reflections seem fresh and took very little time.
Compared to the rest of the painting which took far to many hours. I'll chalk it up to "don't ever do that again."

Stay warm through the blizzard! I'll be thinking about you when I fire up the snow blower.

Reminds me of Jackson Pollock. You've got chaos under control. Do you really feel it was overworked? I see extraordinary skill.
