Grapeland

Horizontal

Vertical check for composition.

I was going to write about the long conversation
this painting and I had along the way.  I may come
back to that at some point.  For now let me
know what you think about this painting.
I think this is the third version of this subject.

Beautiful fresh looking watercolour painting, it has mystery!

Beautiful. Love the abstraction of subject matter.

It works beautifully both horizontally and vertically and I love your use of color. It's curious that you call it 'Grapeland' because I live very close to Vineland where there are many excellent wineries and orchards.

Love the dreamy dimension of this painting!

This works so well. What a beautiful harmonious range of colours in various tints and tones. Masterful, inspiring and oh so good. This is real eye candy and a treat to beghold. Welcome back Doug, the break has restored your confidence and inspiration. Well done my friend.

Thank you Caroline, it's still a mystery to me, but I've decided to leave it alone for a time.

Hi Karen, the fun part about this subject is I never knew where it was headed. I'll live with it a while.
Thanks for coming by.

Thanks Marcia. actually I flipped it end to end and bottom to top. Seemed to work.
Vineland, that is curious. I was spoofing Graceland and the grapes were just old Concords hanging on an old fence in my back yard. Maybe grape juice.
Thanks for coming by.

Thanks Liz, at times it was sort of dreamy but there were times when it was only a nightmare.

Thanks very much Roger. You're very kind with your comments. I hope I can carry this through to the next painting. I have to keep moving so I don't forget what I was thinking. It did stir some things in my brain that seemed familiar from the past, so that's a good thing.
Take care my friend.

Doug, I love the freshness of the paint application and the mixture of abstract and reality.
I love your comments here. I too, have to keep moving or I forget where I'm going ;)

I love the colour combination. So very beautiful.

I think it's beautiful, and prefer it horizontal. Great (grape) composition.
Now I have Paul Simon stuck in my head.

Love these!!! Love the color...the composition...the fluidity...

Sorry it's been awhile since I've checked in...lot's going on and for some reason, your blog entries aren't coming up on my blogger dashboard!

Ooohhh! Pretty!!! Miss you. Wher've ya been? I've been nose to the ground. Not very social on the web. Ah... but now I'm reawakening. Hope you're well and that the weather is good.

Hi Kathryn, Thanks, I appreciate all comments. Don't know what to tell you about the blog problem. I'm not highly technical. Good to hear from you.

Hi Suzanne, glad you like it. Where have I been????
Good question. Inspired without success? Working on spring projects? Taking a nap? Lost focus, or just lost!

Love the colors and really don't know whether I like it horizontally or vertically best -- maybe horizontally.

Beautifully painted.

Thanks Marian,
I think I'll keep it horizontal, the way I painted it.

Thanks Karen, means a lot coming from you.
