View from the top (Maine)

7 x 10 Watercolor on Arches Cold Press.
A cold windy day with gray clouds rushing by and about
8,000 people all trying to stand on the same rock.

Wow !!!!!! My painting buddy has scored big time on this one! I love its bold composition and moody color. You get the award today... painting through wind, cold and the hardest yet, throngs of people! Yay!

Looks like you found your painting energy!

These images remind me of the north shore of Lake Superior her in MN. I may need to head north soon!

Very good Doug. I like the textural contrast between ground and sky. Also, my kind of composition.

Love this one...makes me feel like getting a sweater and walking out on those rocks...especially because here it's been in the 90's!!!

Laurel, thanks!

Loriann, thanks buddette. I wish I could go from one to another and have them all feel like this one. Sometimes, I'm just confused.

Deb, it does have a Lake Superior feel. The water temperature is certainly the same. Cooooollllldddd!

David, thanks, I feel good about this one.

Chieftess, welcome back and sorry it's so warm out there. We took a boat trip around some of the light houses yesterday and nearly froze to death. Three layers and light gloves. You'd think we were from California.

Really nice, Doug!!
Rocks are often difficult to make look ... well .. like rocks. You did.. and created an interesting composition / painting as well.
