As rough as sketches may be, I am finding lately that they have great appeal to me in the fact that they are so honest.

Something about textures and loose impressions. All about getting down to the bones of something. I wonder what this says about the state of my psyche lately?!

I like these Doug. Especially the top one - the path leading through the trees on what looks like a night with a full moon casting shadows across the ground.

Thanks Deb, I really appreciate your words of encouragement. When I sit down and do these strictly from memory It leaves some freedom for the mind to relax and not concentrate on details. They allow for a feeling to take place in the scene. Like you, I'm very attracted to this part of the process right now

I wouldn't try to explain the state of your psyche right now, but if it's like mine I'm tired of details and looking for a little fun in the process.

Take care Deb,
Doug

Wow, cool PB! From memory too... isn't it s freeing? You know it's all in there, let it flow. I, too, like the top one. It leads and lets go.

Experimentation of the soul of finding.

Well I owe a lot of the inspiration to you for pushing me forward. Well not pushing but encouraging. Deb who commented up top on these drawings has also been encouraging and supportive.

A sincere thank you for being so kind and supportive.
It seems I've traveled this road before, about 45 years ago when attending Kendall School of Design. It was far easier then, ah youth.

Your painting buddy,
