Winter Reminder

This is a painting near my childhood home.
On this day I was intrigued by the reflections on
the water.  The thin ice from the banks cut a
pleasing shape as the stream struggled along
under the ice.  I know it's not cold and freezing now.
This is just a subtle reminder that old man winter
is just a snow flake away.

So lovely and haunting. Just beautiful.

Thanks so much for your wonderful
comments. The places around my
childhood home, never seem to change
to me. Pure country is a much slower
pace than the city. I like going back
there. Just a country boy at heart.

Hi Doug,
If only winter was always this picturesque, we would all welcome winter with open arms every day. The poet spinner is fascinated by this truly stunning painting.:-)

I missed this one! It makes me chilly just to look at it! Really nicely done, D!

Thanks Stacey, seldom does winter look
like this. I think this was closer to
spring than winter.

Kelly thanks for the nice comment.
Chilly, yup that's what you should feel.

I don't mind that winter is a snowflake away.... I love winters... it's a beautiful time of year.

The colors in your painting are so fresh and crisp.... and that is a striking blue. I've always wanted to try my hand at watercolor... maybe one day I will. Meanwhile, I will enjoy yours.

Do you mind if I add you to "my favorites" list?

Always nice to hear from someone new.
Thank you for your kind comments. It makes
me happy to know that other people enjoy
my work.
I would encourage you to give watercolor
a try. If you need any advice, I would be
glad to share what I know.
Favorites????? Of course.

Thankyou Doug... I've watched many artists on TV doing their watercolors, they make it look so easy... one day I will try and I'll remember your offer of assistance... :)

Alrighty then, I am going to add you to my favs... thankyou.
