New Hampshire

Passing by a New Hampshire farm on the way to Maine.
This painting went in several directions today. It came up
just short of the burn pile. I'm still considering it. What
do think ... burn or save?

This is a very poor photo of the painting

Hi Doug, others including yourself may consider me a charlatan but given the options I would burn. This view is based purely by comparing "New Hampshire" with other work of yours which I have seen and much admired. Your outspoken and controversial friend Roger. PS This may stimulate some interesting dialogue amonsst your many followers and you are welcome to poo poo my work anytime.

I never ever could burn your art work!!!

I love it! I'm not an expert at all in judging paintings, but I like in this one the soft colors, the dynamic strokes of the fields and the look of the sky and the composition.

I'm a big fan of your work Doug!

I don't know, Doug. What don't you like?
It is more subdued but it has a lot of moodiness to it.
I love the movement in the landscape. It might be more dynamic if cropped differently - in a landscape aspect with the land mass taking up 2/3 of the space just a small slice of the sky. It may be that the big splash of blue is fighting with the land in it's prominence. Just a thought. Don't burn it yet!

Definitely do not burn.I feel this one has a mood. I love its sweeping feeling. Sit with it in your studio and see what it tells you to do.

Definitely a save! I love the almost abstract, crisp bending patterns at the bottom - brilliant!
